Job Description:

General Position Summary:

  • The Project Officer (ALP) have overall responsibility for day-to-day implementation of the project accelerated learning curriculum program in identified 16 Pakistani boy’s and girl’s ALP Schools/Centers in project locations of Quetta district.
  • The Project Officer will work closely both with project management and support staff (including finance, administration, and program) in organization to ensure that the ALP education component activities are implemented according to schedule, budget and required quality.
  • The Project Officer will also work closely to monitor capacity building training on ALP of selected 32 ALP teachers of 16 ALP centers.
  • He reports directly to the Project Manager.
  • He will assist the Project Manager in outlining a strategic plan for the implementation of the project including identifying methods of operation for effective programming and maximum results.
  • He will work closely with the project team as well as counterparts to ensure proper implementation of activities.
  • He will also ensure to monthly work plans and monthly data recording and reporting is completed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Selection of 650 out of school children and adolescents both Afghan refugees (60%) and host community members for 03 years ALP course according to selection criteria
  • Prepare and sign TORs with education department, school principals of 16 identified schools and Letter of Commitment (LOC) with Afghan Consulate
  • Providing support to procurement during distribution of uniforms, shoes, stationary, bags and books of 650 ALP students in 15 Pakistani schools
  • Conduct 5 days’ refresher training on Pakistani Accelerated Learning Pathway (ALP) for 30 Pakistani school teachers from15 project schools
  • Ensure the monitoring of Afghan Consulate in 16 ALP schools
  • Regular monitoring visits of 16 project schools and provide feedback to Project Manager and MEL
  • Conduct monitoring visits to schools for teachers and students’ performance in class and fill checklists regularly in both hard and soft form
  • Responsible to take data of enrollment, dropouts, attendance and results and share with DMO regularly on prescribed template
  • Preparing event reports, training reports, monthly progress reports of ALP classes, success stories on quarterly basis and submit to MEL for review and record
  • Maintain and validate students and teachers’ attendance on monthly basis from school registers
  • Prepare work plans on monthly basis for Pakistani schools’ activities and procurement plan for distribution of items to ALP students
  • Conduct final-term exams at the end of each term
  • Coordinate regularly with 16 selected schools’ Principals, Education department and Afghan Consulate for smooth implementation of ALP course as per work plan.
  • Ensure that objectives and indicators as outlined in the grant agreement are met in time.
  • Actively coordinate with MEL to ensure that appropriate monitoring and impact assessment mechanisms and tools are being implemented within Afghan refugees’ education component.
  • Responsible to maintain project ALP schools documents as per organization's and donor requirement and share attendance and students’ data with MEL
  • Provide support to MEL in base line, midline, end line surveys and assessments
  • Follow organization's SOPs on Safety and Security while conducting the activities in the assigned areas.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings with other members of the project as required.
  • Conduct herself professionally and personally in such a manner to bring credit to organizations and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts.
  • Conduct Monthly Professional Development Day with ALP teachers
  • Conduct midterm/terminal assessments of the ALP leaners and ALP touters
